Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (trained cleaner/housekeeper in healthcare settings), committed to high-quality work and safety. AHS will provide necessary training to ensure safe cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, clinical areas, office spaces, and other common areas in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices.
As an Environmental Services II, your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks related to intensive or specialized cleaning within a hospital or healthcare facility, utilizing industrial cleaning supplies and powered industrial equipment. Typical duties may involve operating industrial cleaning machinery for floor maintenance, thoroughly washing ceilings and windows, and disposing of hazardous waste. You may also be responsible for providing training or orientation to other Environmental staff.
- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
- Knowledge and operation of a computer, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements during shifts.
- Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs of force.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions.
- Basic knowledge and operation of a computer and a smartphone.
- Dependability and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Previous cleaning experience preferred.
- Experience with cleaning duties in a healthcare environment would be an asset.
