Job summary

Government of Yukon seeks a qualified environmental professional to coordinate environmental compliance for transportation projects, ensuring YESAA and other regulatory requirements are met throughout planning, construction and post-construction.

Responsibilities include engaging First Nations, coordinating inspections, and reporting progress while maintaining adherence to safety and environmental standards across Yukon works.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, or a related discipline.
• Experience interpreting environmental legislation, regulations, policies and guidelines.
• Experience coordinating environmental compliance activities in field projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental compliance activities in the field for transportation projects.
• Assist with planning and coordinating regulatory approvals under YESAA, Fisheries Act, Yukon Waters Act, and Navigable Waters Act.
• Engage with First Nations and Indigenous governments during environmental assessment or project delivery.
• Monitor, record and report on environmental aspects from planning through post-construction.
