Job summary

Hirevantis LLC is seeking an Entry-Level Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Security Operations team in Toronto, Ontario. You’ll monitor, detect, and respond to threats across systems and cloud services with mentorship from senior analysts and real incident work from your first month.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in vulnerability scanning, phishing response, and documentation while supporting audits and compliance efforts.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in cybersecurity, computer science, IT or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 0–2 years in IT, help desk, networking, or security (internships, labs, and personal projects count).
• Knowledge of networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs) and Windows/Linux.
• Understanding of common threats like phishing, malware, and ransomware.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs using SIEM and endpoint detection tools.
• Investigate alerts, rule out false positives, and escape real incidents.
• Support incident response with evidence collection and clear documentation.
• Run vulnerability scans and follow up with IT teams until issues are fixed.
• Review phishing reports and help block malicious domains and attachments.
• Keep security tickets, runbooks, and asset records up to date.
• Help gather evidence for audits and compliance reviews.
