The role requires 2+ years of cybersecurity experience, familiarity with SIEM/EDR, vulnerability management, and incident response, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Security, CS, IS, CSE or related field.
  • 2+ years in cybersecurity activities.
  • Experience with SIEM/EDR, network security, vulnerabilities, incident response.
  • Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a changing security environment.

Job description

We are hiring a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team in Toronto. In this role, you will support the delivery and operation of security initiatives across technology, processes, and services to help protect the business from cyber threats. You will apply and continue developing your technical and business knowledge while contributing to information security and IT risk management across the organization. You will also build collaborative relationships with business and IT stakeholders, affiliates, and partners. The Cybersecurity Analyst will:

  • Monitor security access, alerts, and system activity to identify potential threats, investigate anomalies, and respond promptly to cybersecurity incidents.
  • Conduct security assessments, audits, and vulnerability reviews to identify risks, validate control effectiveness, and support compliance with security policies and standards.
  • Implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect organizational systems, networks, and sensitive information.
  • Support the development and execution of incident response plans, including containment, investigation, root cause analysis, remediation, and post-incident improvement activities.
  • Collect, assess, and apply threat intelligence to strengthen awareness of emerging risks and proactively improve the organization’s cybersecurity posture.
  • Document security incidents, response actions, outcomes, and compliance requirements, and prepare reports for relevant stakeholders and authorities as required.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate security controls into technology infrastructure, operational processes, and business initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain security platform reports and dashboards; work comfortably with data to identify and communicate key trends, risks, and control performance using reporting tools such as Power BI.

To be successful as a Cybersecurity Analyst with People Corporation, you will need:

  • 2+ years of practical experience supporting cybersecurity activities, including monitoring, assessing, and responding to cyber threats.
  • The ideal candidate will have exposure to security tools such as SIEM/EDR tools, network security, vulnerability assessments, incident response, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to assess information carefully
  • Willingness to learn, share knowledge, and apply new security concepts in a practical environment
  • Clear communication skills to engage effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end users
  • Critical thinking, adaptability, and curiosity to support problem-solving in a changing cybersecurity environment
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to investigate issues, identify root causes, and support timely resolution
  • Motivation to continue building cybersecurity knowledge and grow into broader security responsibilities over time
  • Strong technical skills, such as proficiency in security tools, network knowledge, and programming
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related college program.
  • Relevant programs may include university or college offerings focused on cybersecurity, secure systems, network defence, penetration testing, forensic investigation, or practical lab-based learning hands on experience at home using publicy available CTF’s and labs.
  • Certifications in CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) and Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)

The base salary for this position is between $80,000 - $90,000 annually.
