Job summary

Coast Mountain College (CMTN) – Smithers campus invites applications for a part-time term Enrolment Services Representative, 17.5 hours per week. The appointment runs Sept 18, 2026 to July 30, 2027, with evening shifts and salary per BCGEU Level 7.

Reporting to the Campus Administrative Officer, duties include cashier/registration using Colleague, processing applications, determining fees, booking Student Services appointments, and guiding students to campus resources with inclusive service.

Qualifications

  • One-year post-secondary education in Office Administration or Business Administration (diploma preferred).
  • Grade 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years directly related experience.
  • Knowledge of post-secondary education sector including programs/services at CMTN.
  • Previous cashier experience is essential.
  • Proficient office and computer skills (MS Office, Colleague, internet, e-mail) with typing speed of 50 wpm.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage tight deadlines and frequent interruptions.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to function across cultures, particularly with Indigenous communities; knowledge of equity, diversity, inclusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic team with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Cashier and registration duties using the Colleague system.
  • Processing applications for regular and part-time course registration.
  • Determining fees and collected payments for tuition, dorm rent, deposits, etc.
  • Booking appointments for Student Services including assessments and advising.
  • Directing students to resources on/off campus.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Job description and duties

Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Smithers campus, invites applications for a part-time term (17.5 hours per week) Enrolment Services Representative. The appointment will commence September 18, 2026 and end July 30, 2027 (subject to a leave).Evening work will be required.Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Support Staff salary scale, Level 7: $31.23 per hour, plus pay in lieu of vacation and benefits.

  • Determining fees and received payments for tuition, dorm rent, refundable deposits, etc.
  • Booking appointments for Student Services including assessments and advising appointments
  • Appropriately directing students to resources on and off campus
  • Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

One-year post-secondary education in Office Administration or Business Administration (diploma preferred), grade 12 or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

  • Knowledge of the post-secondary education sector including programs and services available at CMTN
  • Previous cashier experience is essential
  • Proficient office and computer skills (MS Office, Colleague, internet, e-mail) with a typing speed of 50 words per minute
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage tight deadlines and frequent interruptions
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to function effectively across cultures, particularly with the Indigenous communities
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for the best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion
