Plusgrade Travel in Montreal is seeking an Engineering Manager to own three high-throughput engineering teams delivering critical SaaS applications on AWS. You will shape the technology roadmap, elevate microservices architecture, and lead a culture of ownership and performance across CI/CD and automated testing.

You will mentor engineers, recruit top talent, and drive AI-assisted delivery patterns to increase execution speed while maintaining quality.

Job Description

Take ownership of three high-throughput engineering teams that power critical travel infrastructure, with full autonomy to elevate software practices and grow top talent.

What You'll Be Doing

You will directly lead three teams of backend and frontend engineers delivering high-availability SaaS applications on AWS that handle massive partner volume. Working closely with product leaders, you will shape the technology roadmap, elevate microservices architecture, and drive continuous improvements across CI/CD and automated testing. Your teams will operate within an AI-assisted delivery model, leveraging automated incident response, intelligent monitoring, and AI-powered workflows to ship safer and faster. Day to day, you will blend strategic vision, technical judgment, and servant leadership to build resilient, self-organizing engineering teams.

What You Bring

• You bring a deep technical foundation in distributed systems, microservices, and AWS cloud architecture, paired with proven experience managing and leading engineering teams.
• You excel at coaching engineers, recruiting top talent, giving timely feedback, and running fair performance reviews while building a culture of ownership.
• You have structurally changed how your teams build software around AI, setting up shared AI-assisted systems and delivery patterns that measurably raise execution speed without lowering quality.
• You comfortably explain complex architecture concepts, advise on technical strategy, and balance competing priorities through clear delegation.
• You bring exceptional written and oral communication skills in both English and French.
