Job summary

Plusgrade Inc. is seeking a contract-focused Fraud Risk Consultant to identify and stop fraud in real time. You will craft complex SQL queries, hunt for patterns, and optimize data pipelines to support global loyalty product risk protections.

In this role, you will balance fraud prevention with user experience, tune rules in Cybersource/Adyen/Kount, and validate AI-driven analyses before presenting results to stakeholders. The work is global, fast-paced, and data-driven.

Qualifications

• 3+ years writing complex SQL queries and joins across large datasets.
• Experience spotting behavioral anomalies and patterns in transaction data.
• Hands-on experience tuning rules and workflows in fraud platforms.

What You’ll Be Doing

Transaction volumes across our global loyalty products are scaling rapidly, and the Risk team needs someone who wants to catch active fraud rings in real time, not just review flags in a queue. Your days will be spent querying large datasets, hunting for emerging fraud patterns, and keeping friction minimal for legitimate travelers. AI handles the first pass on variance analysis and financial risk summaries, leaving you free to focus on the complex discrepancies, root‑cause investigations, and judgment calls that actually need human eyes.

What You Bring

You will write complex SQL queries and joins in your sleep, pulling and manipulating disparate datasets without waiting for someone else to prepare the data for you. You spot behavioral anomalies and hidden patterns in transaction data before they show up as spikes in chargeback metrics. You make swift, accurate calls on queued transactions under pressure, finding the right balance between fraud prevention and user friction. You have hands‑on experience tuning rules and workflows inside platforms like Cybersource, Adyen, or Kount rather than just relying on out‑of‑the‑box settings. When it comes to AI, you don't just use it, you've replaced recurring manual reporting and data cleanup with workflows you built, and you know how to validate AI outputs before sharing insights with stakeholders.
