Job summary

Scotiabank is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Low Value Payments Technology. You will lead the 24/7 real-time payments platforms, driving the modernization program and ensuring platform stability, security, and reliability across retail, small business and commercial segments.

You will translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, manage risks, and partner with product, architecture, and operations teams to deliver high-impact outcomes in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field; equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams delivering complex, large-scale programs in an enterprise environment.
• 5+ years in a software development environment with full SDLC understanding.
• Solid technical foundation to lead engineering discussions and guide scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery across a large, cross-functional engineering team for real-time payments modernization.
• Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans with product, architecture and engineering stakeholders.
• Coach and mentor engineers and emerging leaders to build high-performing teams.
• Develop and maintain platform stability, security and reliability in a regulated environment.
• Engage with risk, compliance, fraud, channels and operations to ensure alignment and delivery excellence.
• Foster accountability and continuous improvement across delivery lifecycle.
