Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto is seeking a Director, Retail Cross-border Payments to lead strategy, growth and end-to-end management of Canada’s retail cross-border payments business. The role drives financial performance, product leadership and partner governance within Scotiabank’s risk framework.

You will oversee portfolio planning, pricing, and lifecycle management, while collaborating with Digital, Marketing, Channels and Analytics to expand client usage and revenue.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in payments and ownership of product or portfolio with commercial results.
• Knowledge of cross-border payment flows, FX and related risk, AML and compliance considerations.
• Experience in P&L management, forecasting, pricing, and business cases.
• Proven success delivering digital payment products and improving client journeys.

Responsibilities

• Own cross-border payments strategy and prioritized product roadmap with business cases and investments.
• Own portfolio planning, forecasting and P&L performance to drive growth, revenue and margins.
• Lead product development and lifecycle management for retail cross-border payments to deliver competitive solutions.
• Drive client acquisition, activation and repeat usage through data-led improvements with digital and marketing teams.
• Monitor market developments, competitors and client trends to translate insights into priorities.
• Lead partner governance and commercial relationships, including negotiations and performance reviews.
• Oversee end-to-end operations and technology coordination to ensure launch readiness and resilience.
• Own business risk and controls within the bank's risk appetite with compliance involvement.
• Build a high-performance team with clear objectives and accountability.
