Job summary

Aspire Bakeries is seeking an Engineering Co-op Student for the Fall term at our Brantford, ON bakery. As part of the team, you will support the Project Engineer in driving product development, manufacturing improvements, and facility upgrade initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and production capabilities.

You will gain hands-on experience in process optimization, plant layouts, and equipment start-ups while ensuring GMP and food safety standards are maintained in a fast-paced food

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering and manufacturing improvement projects to enhance production efficiency.
  • Develop and update plant layouts and technical drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate on equipment installations and new product start-ups within the facility.
  • Contribute to process optimization and line efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in project design, layout planning, and implementation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety standards, and health & safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, SOP adherence, and support continuous improvement efforts.

About the Role

We are seeking an Engineering Co-op Student (Fall term) to join our team at our Brantford, ON bakery. As an Engineering Co-op, you will support the Project Engineer in driving product development, manufacturing improvements, and facility upgrade initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and production capabilities.

Shift & Schedule
  • Shift: Morning (Monday- Friday)
  • Hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Compensation
  • Hourly Rate: $27
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll be Doing)
  • Support engineering and manufacturing improvement projects to enhance production efficiency
  • Develop and update plant layouts and technical drawings using AutoCAD
  • Collaborate on equipment installations and new product start-ups within the facility
  • Contribute to process optimization and line efficiency improvement initiatives

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
