Job summary

Magna Exteriors in Brampton, Canada, invites a student in a Mechanical Engineering program to join our winter term team. You will define and execute project actions, document procedures, and collaborate with the Engineering and Program Managers.

You will work with external suppliers, support trials, and help maintain quality and safety standards while learning about 5S and IATF-16949. The role offers hands-on experience in automotive exterior systems.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineer program or related field of study.
• Experience working with external suppliers an asset.
• Manufacturing experience involving Injection Moulding Machines an asset.
• Knowledge of Build Standards/Standard Operating Procedures an asset.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the required actions and processes to complete projects or assignments as directed by the Engineering Manager or Program Manager.
• Create and document all procedures and methods required by the project.
• Conduct regular follow-up meetings with the Team.
• Report out to Management on the progress of the tasks.
• Visit external suppliers to support program trials and activities.
• Perform work on project to be directed by Department Manager.
• Perform work on projects as directed by the Program Manager.
• Meet aggressive project time lines (generally very tight).
• Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace.
