Job summary

Sofina Foods Inc. in Abbotsford, BC is seeking a Class 4th Power Engineer to monitor and maintain plant mechanical systems, including high‑pressure boiler operation, under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager.

You will perform daily inspections and repairs, following HACCP and safety policies, with opportunities to train toward a Millwright certificate and advance within our diverse food company.

Qualifications

• 4th Class Power Engineering with hands-on experience of 1 year.
• Grade 12 Diploma or High School equivalent.
• Maintenance Experience.
• Mechanical, electrical and refrigeration systems knowledge, and an ability to use power and manual tools.
• Inhouse opportunity to receive further training towards a Millwright Journeyman Certificate
• Basic computer knowledge and math skills
• Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
• Millwrights encouraged to apply (millwright wage applicable).

• Accountable for preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment as per the work order requests, equipment stoppages or breakdowns.
• Accountable to adhere to and utilize company policies and procedures and HACCP regulations.

Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Power Engineer incumbent is responsible for monitoring and maintenance of all the mechanical equipment and systems in the plant and for performing daily pre-operational inspections and repairs as necessary.
