Job summary

Intercity Packers Ltd. is hiring for a Full Time 4th Class Power Engineer/Maintenance Technician at our Richmond location.

You will perform maintenance on various equipment to ensure operational efficiency, working from Wednesday to Sunday with a starting pay of $28/hour. This position requires a licensed Refrigeration Operator or higher HVAC qualification and offers comprehensive benefits including health coverage and a retirement savings plan.

As our innovative business continues to grow rapidly, we are seeking a Full Time 4th Class Power Engineer/Maintenance Technician at our Richmond location. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role performs various skilled mechanical maintenance and repair duties on various types of equipment, including conveyors, mobile handling equipment (ie. lift truck), food processing equipment, and building facilities in accordance with accepted standards, regulations and procedures. Ensures that all equipment is in working order for maximum operating efficiency.

Position

• Position: Full Time, Permanent
• Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday, 9:00am-5:30pm
• For training, the shift will start at 6:00am.
• Salary: Starting from $28/hour (paid on weekly basis!)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs routine audits to ensure conformance to operational and safety requirements and standards.
• Performs corrective and preventive maintenance activities on systems to provide the continuous performance of HVAC, electricity, gas, life safety, security, and other systems required for operations.
• Proactively report and request tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
• Prepares records, reports, and other documentation related to work performed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs general trades work in the facility as required.
• Ensure up-to-date knowledge of operational and safety compliance, regulations and standards.

Requirements

• Licensed: Refrigeration Operator or 4th Class Engineer, or higher HVAC.
• Experience is an asset.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Knows basic computer systems: Google Sheets, Docs and Drive.
• Ability to communicate effectively, helps in creating an inclusive and trust-based culture and leads the team in delivering high customer service.
• Knowledge of workplace safety, food safety, safe lifting and handling procedures.
• Knowledge of meat and seafood production and warehousing is an asset.
