O.E.M. Remanufacturing Company Inc. in Edmonton is seeking a Journeyperson Engine Service Bay Technician to disassemble, inspect and assemble heavy equipment engines for repair and return.

You will follow OEM standards, work with the Technical Services team, and ensure accurate parts and labour quotations while maintaining safety and quality in a unionized shop.

Qualifications

• HET Journeyperson ticket or interprovincial Red Seal required.
• Experience with heavy equipment engines, Caterpillar preferred.
• Able to use precision measuring tools and assembly manuals.
• Knowledge of EBOM system for logging progress.
• Strong organizational skills and safety awareness.
• Ability to communicate in English effectively.

Job Title: The Journeyperson Engine Service Bay Technician

Overview: The Journeyperson Engine Service Bay Technician is responsible for the disassembly, inspection and assembly of all Caterpillar and other Repair and Return engine components.

Job Description:

• Perform disassembly, failure analysis, component/part inspection, and complete assembly of heavy equipment engines
• Determine the reusability of parts for all non-standard jobs
• Utilize documentation such as service letters and service magazines to ensure compliance to current OEM standards; work within the repair and return setting to meet customer requirements regarding additional salvage opportunities, expanded parts re-use, and accurate parts and labour quotation
• Work with the Technical Services team to help prepare parts for the purpose of diagnosing component failures
• Review and process documentation per company standards and be able to understand and follow scopes of repair for each process step

Qualifications:

• HET Journeyperson ticket, or interprovincial Red Seal, is required. Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C. (Internal candidates)
• Multiple years’ experience in the heavy equipment engine field, working on preferably Caterpillar components (disassembly, inspection, assembly, service bay, or test)
• Proven ability to effectively use precision measuring tools, hand and power tools, and follow instruction using assembly manuals
• Proven ability to navigate through software programs such as EBOM system, efficiently and effectively logging job progress and ownership
• Strong organizational skills and safety awareness with the ability to safely adapt to a changing environment
• Ability to understand and follow scope of repair process and identify scope adjustments as necessary
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to create a safe and positive work environment
• Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively
• Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
• Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner & comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures
• Will require successful completion of drug and alcohol testing, a criminal background check, and a medical assessment

Note: This posting is for a static afternoon shift scheduled Monday to Thursday; 10 hours per day. Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.

Hourly Rate: $53.05 - $56.23 / Hour

Union Membership: This is a unionized position. Terms of employment are governed by a collective agreement.
