Job summary

Finning International Inc. is seeking a Prewash Component Cleaner for the OEM Remanufacturing site in Edmonton, Alberta.

The role focuses on cleaning and transporting incoming cores and components to ready them for inspection, quotation and assembly, while contributing to contamination control and area housekeeping. The position requires 6 months in Wage Grade 1 or higher, strong organization, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and clean English communication; experience with high-pressure washing

Overview

As a Prewash Component Cleaner at OEM Remanufacturing, you will be responsible for efficiently cleaning and transporting incoming cores and components to ensure they are properly prepared for inspection, quotation, and assembly. In addition to this, you will play a key role in our contamination control by contributing to housekeeping duties and maintaining cleanliness in your area. Please note, this particular role will primarily support the "Pre-wash" area of the department.

Job Description
  • Correctly and efficiently preparing parts, including sealing all orifices and other protective measures
  • Cleaning of components using high pressure washer Mart, caustic, and/or acid washing a variety of product types without causing damage to parts
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 6 months working in Wage Grade 1 or higher (internal candidates)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow work instructions
  • Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Mechanical aptitude and background is preferred
  • Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively
  • Experience cleaning components and high-pressure washing preferred
  • Previous experience in a heavy‑duty equipment facility is preferred
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
  • Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner and comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures
Working Hours

This posting is for a static weekend shift scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; 12 hours per day. Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.

Employment Conditions

Will require successful completion of drug and alcohol testing, a criminal background check, and a medical assessment.

Remuneration

Hourly Rate: $25.46 - $32.89 / Hour

Union Membership

This is a unionized position. Terms of employment are governed by a collective agreement.
