Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services is seeking a skilled Ambulance Operator/Attendant (EMR) at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in the Western Zone. The role is temporary full-time until 28 June 2028, with a chance of extension, handling patient transport with high safety standards.

You will operate ambulances, deliver comprehensive EMR care, and perform lifting and patient handling. Strong communication, decision-making, and safety awareness are essential, with adherence to ICARE values.

Qualifications

• Completion of Emergency Medical Responder course (10-day).
• Current NL Paramedicine Registration as EMR.
• Valid Class 4 Driver's License (NL).
• Medical authorization from OPMD after orientation.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Strong communication and decision-making abilities.
• Passes Physical Capability testing (within 3 months).
• Willing to report to work within 10 minutes for standby.
• Clean work record and driver abstract.
• Discreet conduct and alignment with ICARE values.

Responsibilities

• Operate ambulances and transport patients with care and skill.
• Provide optimal patient care at full EMR scope.
