Job summary

The Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services is seeking a Primary Care Paramedic (or Ambulance Operator/Attendant) to join the Eastern Zone paramedicine program in Whitbourne. The successful candidate will respond to emergency and routine calls, provide skilled basic and advanced care, and uphold professional standards within a collaborative team.

The role includes on-call duties, 12-hour shifts, and a commitment to safety, family-centered care, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduation from PCP program or Emergency Medical Responder course (10-day)
• Current registration with NL Paramedicine Regulation as PCP or EMR
• Valid Class 4 Driver's Licence (NL)
• Medical authorization from OPMD on orientation
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong decision making skills
• Complete Physical Capability testing within last 3 months
• Must be able to report to work within 10 minutes when on standby
• Satisfactory attendance/work performance record
• Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
• Satisfactory conduct certificate (RCMP/local police)
