Job summary

Common Wealth is seeking an Employee Experience Specialist in Toronto for a hybrid role with in-office days. You will support People Operations, onboarding, and events, while helping manage our office and tech setup for a growing team.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career seeking broad exposure to culture, training, and knowledge management, reporting to the Head of People Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support People Operations, including recruiting, onboarding and training programs.

Location

This role is based in Toronto. Given the collaborative nature of the position, we expect a minimum of three days per week in the office, with frequency varying based on business needs. Candidates should be local to the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and comfortable coming in as the role requires.

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a n Employee Experience Specialist to support continuous improvement of our company culture and help our team members do their best work. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to get broad exposure to a high-growth business and build diverse skills in People Operations. Investing in culture and employee experience will be especially important over the coming years as we scale from current headcount of about 50 employees to a larger organization. We also believe that creating positive, high-quality employee experiences will translate into positive, high-quality experiences for our clients and partners. You’ll report to our Head of People Operations, and as the role grows, so will your responsibilities within the People Operations function.

What you will do:
  • Support People Operations. Working closely with our Head of People Operations, you’ll provide support for a wide variety of People-related activities. This includes supporting recruiting and hiring activities, keeping employee files up to date, tracking vacations, and helping to organize and execute all employee onboarding and offboarding activities. It also includes support for strategic initiatives led by the People function, including employee training programs and efforts to improve our knowledge management.
  • Manage our physical office. We strive to create an office where employees want to come in and collaborate to get their best work done. You’ll order and organize office supplies and equipment, act as the liaison between property managers and Common Wealth, manage mail and courier needs, and anticipate what the team needs before it’s asked for. You’ll continuously improve our office environment to it’s a welcome space for productivity, creativity, and collaboration.
  • Plan and run company events. You’ll own the full cycle of the physical and virtual events we run at Common Wealth, from planning through to execution, getting feedback and adjusting when needed. This includes our annual employee summit, training and education events for our partners, and other events planned by various teams across the business.
  • Support our tech setup. Working closely with our Head of Engineering, you’ll wipe laptops, set new employees up in our back-end systems, and own the inventory of physical equipment.
