Job summary

VEG ER for Pets in Whitby, Ontario, is seeking an Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 in-hospital team. This role focuses on high-quality triage, treatments, and compassionate care for pets in emergencies.

You'll assist doctors across anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, while utilizing advanced techniques and maintaining clear communication with clients and the VEG team. Per diem availability may apply, with flexible scheduling to fit hospital needs.

Qualifications

• Requires associate degree or higher in veterinary technology.
• Credentialed as an RVT in the practice location.
• VTS in ECC or anesthesia is a plus for higher compensation.

Responsibilities

• Triage and nursing care in emergencies from triage to discharge.
• Support doctors with treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, and monitoring.
• Perform CPR and advanced procedures as needed.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and catheterization.
• Communicate effectively with team and pet owners, ensuring compassionate care.
