Fairfield Animal Hospital in Kelowna, BC seeks a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to join our 24/7 emergency team. The RVT will triage, diagnose, and treat small animals alongside emergency DVMs, with a schedule of 4 on/4 off including evenings, weekends and rotating overnights.

Formación

• Registration as a Veterinary Technologist.
• Emergency and critical care medicine for small animals.
• Ability to recognize and manage multiple priorities including ongoing triage.
• Strong team skills with excellent oral and written communication.
• Accuracy, organization, flexibility and initiative.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch and lift.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Responsabilidades

• Care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery.
• Partner with the veterinarian before, during, and after surgery.
• Prepare and administer medications.
• Provide nursing care and monitoring for emergency and critical care patients.
• Perform ongoing triage assessment and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Produce diagnostic radiographs and CT scans, collect samples, and perform laboratory tests.
• Provide wound and bandage care.
• Manage blood transfusions.
• Counsel clients on animal health care.
• Help mentor visiting practicum students and peers.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technologists, and support teams.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
