Northern Health is seeking an Emergency Physician Locum to provide ER coverage in Fort St. John. The role requires minimum two-day blocks and delivers shift-based remuneration with travel and accommodations covered.

You will work in a busy hospital setting serving a regional population with access to a full-service emergency department. The arrangement includes shifts of morning, afternoon, and night with fees per shift and potential additional incentives.

Job description

Income Guarantee Option 1 (includes FFS, RRP, And MOCAP)

Morning shift: 0600-1400: $2,820/weekday, $2,972/weekend.

Afternoon shift: 1400-2100: $2,417/weekday, $2,569/weekend.

Night shift: 2100-0600: $3,376 (weekday or weekend).

You can expect to see an average of 25-30 patients per shift. Travel and accommodation covered. Travel stipend: $250-$1,500 based on time. Maximum, $1,500 per round trip.

Option 2 (No Income Guarantee)

FFS. You can expect to earn $3,380 - $4,030 FFS/shift (includes $1,000 shift stipend, 21.70% MSP Premium, and $25.68 MOCAP. Travel and accommodation covered.

Fort St John Hospital Overview

Fort St John Hospital is a state-of-the-art 55 bed hospital and 123 bed residential care facility serving a population of approximately 23,000 and is one of two area Emergency Rooms serving a catchment area of approximately 70,000.

Fort St. John City Description

Fort St. John is known as “The Energetic City” and is located at Mile 47 of the world famous Alaska Highway! The city has numerous restaurants, cafés, and a health food store. It is the cultural and commercial hub of the Northeast, with a performing and visual arts centre, library, art gallery and theatre.
