Overview

Northern Health is seeking locum physicians to work in the St. John Hospital Emergency Department in Vanderhoof, British Columbia.

Schedule and patient load

ER shifts can be 24 hours (0800-0800), or 12 hours (0800-2000, 2000-0800) with flexibility for 6-hour blocks during weekdays. You can expect to see about 25 patients in a 24-hour shift, with 5 patients during night shift.

• CCFP rate: $4,032 - $4,122 / weekday day 8 am to 8 pm; $4,334 - $4,425 / weekend day 8 am to 8 pm; $4,443 / weekday night 8 pm to 8 am; $4,443 - $4,534 / weekend night 8 pm to 8 am; $8,475 / weekday 8 am – 8 am; $8,778 - $8,963 / weekend 8 am – 8 am
• CCFP-EM rate: $4,440 - $4,531 / weekday day 8 am to 8 pm; $4,743 - $4,833 / weekend day 8 am to 8 pm; $4,852 / weekday night 8 pm to 8 am; $4,852 - $4,942 / weekend night 8 pm to 8 am; $9,291 / weekday 8 am – 8 am; $9,594 - $9,779 / weekend 8 am – 8 am

Site and support

Site has X-ray, lab, ultrasound during the day, and support with local GP anesthesia and GP surgery. The referral site is in Prince George, 1 hour away.

Consultants

Visiting specialists to the hospital include general internist, orthopedics, ENT, plastics, geriatrics, psychiatry, pediatrics, and physiatry.
