Job summary

Saskatchewan Health Authority Kerrobert & District Health Centre seeks an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic (EMT/PCP) for a part-time regular position. Reporting to the Manager, you will provide pre-hospital emergency care, assessment, treatment and transportation in line with provincial regulations and SHA policies.

The role requires a Primary Care Paramedic Certificate, valid Class 4 driver's license and ITLS/CPR/BLS certifications, with 168 hours per 6 weeks and a 0.75 FTE schedule

Qualifications

  • Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute.
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license.
  • ITLS, CPR, and BLS certifications.
  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency events as EMT/PCP.
  • Provide assessment, treatment and transportation of ill or injured persons.
  • Comply with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations, SCoP Clinical Practice Protocols, and SHA policies.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.

Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events. and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards.

Education

  • Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute

Licenses

  • Valid Class 4 driver's license

Other Information

  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
  • Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period.
