Job summary

Saskatchewan Health Authority seeks an Emergency Medical Services EMT/PCP at Wilkie Health Centre. You assess, treat and transport ill or injured persons in accordance with provincial acts and SHA policies.

Registration with Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level is required, along with BCLS/ITLS and CPR certifications. Primary Care Paramedic training and a valid Class 4 license are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • PCP certificate from an approved educational institute.
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license.
  • BCLS, ITLS and CPR certifications are required.
  • Ability to work under pressure in emergency settings.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency events and provide assessment, treatment and transportation.
  • Operate in accordance with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and regulations and SHA policies.
  • Report to the Manager or designate and maintain patient care documentation.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, ensuring high standards of safety.
  • Safely operate EMS vehicles and follow clinical practice protocols.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards.

  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
Additional Comment
  • No guaranteed hours. Must be Available a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours per 3 week period. Must be available all shifts, short shifts, short notice calls, stats and holidays, where applicable
