We are hiring Embedded Linux Field Engineer to expand our reach in mission-critical industries like Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, and Telco, as well as Consumer Electronics. We seek candidates who are accomplished Linux experts, passionate about Linux, proficient with containerization, system debugging, and related skills.

The server edition of Ubuntu is extensively used in connected devices and industrial PCs. Our newer IoT edition, Ubuntu Core, emphasizes security and resilience for high-end appliances. Our clients include global brands in electronics, automotive, and robotics. We are expanding our offerings to enhance security, management, and developer experience for small Linux environments and devices, including recent additions like real-time Linux capabilities.

This role requires a unique skill set: deep Linux knowledge, coding and scripting proficiency, experience with low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, embedded software development, and adaptability to diverse client engagements. Successful candidates are business-focused, collaborative, and pride themselves on delivering excellent solutions.

Daily Responsibilities
  1. Engage with customers during presales to gather requirements and explain our technology.
  2. Propose solutions to prospective clients.
  3. Participate in the delivery of select Embedded Linux projects.
  4. Relay market requirements within our organization and contribute to developing solutions.
  5. Act as a customer advocate and trusted advisor to Canonical.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Extensive Linux experience, preferably with Debian or Ubuntu.
  • Solid experience with embedded Linux (Yocto, Buildroot) or RTOS.
  • Proficiency in Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
  • Professional fluency in English and the local language.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Result-oriented with multitasking ability.
  • Strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Quick learner with humility.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% for client meetings, events, and conferences.
  • Ability to speak and write professional Chinese.
Additional Skills (Optional)
  • Experience in customer engagement is a plus.
