Job summary

Toronto Star Newspapers Ltd. is seeking an Email Specialist to join our team in Toronto. You will manage end-to-end email campaigns, refine templates, and develop new ones to support growth initiatives.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure across-device compatibility, best-practice personalization, and timely deployment while maintaining high quality and accuracy in all communications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years email marketing or related experience.
  • University or college degree in marketing or related discipline.
  • Proficient HTML and CSS for email coding and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience working directly with an email marketing platform, and deploying emails to targeted segments.
  • Exceptional time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer fluency of MS Office, Google Sheets and Adobe Photoshop.

Responsibilities

  • Support email design through CSS and HTML, and troubleshoot template, content, and image coding.
  • Optimize existing and new templates for viewing across multiple platforms and devices taking into consideration best practices for preview text, subject lines, personalization, mobile responsiveness and dark-mode support to drive overall engagement.
  • Confirm all email components (links, personalization, images) are functioning and displaying as expected.
  • Stay on top of the campaign management tasks to ensure projects stay on track including collection of campaign assets and contact lists.
  • Day-to-day email campaign execution, including list imports, set-up, segmentation, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Run A/B test to improve and optimize campaign performance based on changing business needs.
  • Manage the email calendar to monitor requests for deployments from various business units and head off any audience conflicts.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure strategic initiatives are reflected in an accurate and effective manner.

Job Description
