Job summary

Northland School Division is seeking an Elementary Teacher for Bishop Routhier School, a K-7 site located in the Peavine Métis Settlement. You will deliver the prescribed curriculum, plan lessons, and engage with families and community while promoting Cree language and culture.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff and a commitment to inclusive teaching practices in a rural Indigenous context.

Qualifications

• Alberta teaching certification and TQS required.
• BEd degree required.
• Experience teaching in rural and/or Indigenous communities.

Responsibilities

• Follow prescribed program of studies for each subject.
• Plan and execute daily lessons based on short, medium and long range planning.
• Provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Champion Cree language/culture revitalization and curriculum infusion.
• Support school-parent-community engagement.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and collaborative decision making.
• Promote differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
