Job summary

NDT Global in Canada is seeking an M&R Electronics Technician responsible for maintenance, repair, testing, and continuous improvement of robotic units and related electronic systems.

The role ensures reliability and performance of equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance, laboratory testing, and close collaboration with internal stakeholders. Experience with measuring equipment, SAP, and MS Office is preferred; a strong commitment to quality and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Completed training in electronics (e.g., electronics technician or electrical engineer)
• Several years of experience in electronics, preferably repair and maintenance of electrical equipment
• Experience with measuring/testing equipment
• Experience with MS Office and ERP systems; SAP preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, servicing, and repair on robotic units
• Modify and rebuild modules per technical specifications
• Conduct commissioning and functional tests in the lab

Purpose

The M&R Electronics Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, testing, and continuous improvement of robotic units and related electronic systems. This role ensures the reliability, performance, and operational readiness of equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance activities, technical troubleshooting, laboratory testing, and collaboration with internal stakeholders. The position plays a key role in maintaining high quality standards, supporting system functionality, and enhancing maintenance and repair processes.

Tasks

• Performing maintenance, servicing, and repair work on robotic units
• Modifying and rebuilding modules in accordance with technical specifications
• Conducting commissioning and functional tests in the laboratory
• Documenting the work performed and the functional tests
• Maintaining order and system data in close collaboration with clients and management
• Providing first-level support for inspection robots and assisting with fault analysis
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of maintenance, repair, and testing processes

Qualifications & Requirements

• Completed training in the field of electronics (e.g., electronics technician for devices and systems, electrical engineer, mechatronics technician)
• Several years of professional experience in electronics, ideally in the repair and maintenance of electrical equipment
• Experience working with measuring and testing equipment
• Experience with MS Office and ERP systems; familiarity with SAP is preferred

Skillset

• Strong knowledge of electronic systems, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting techniques
• Experience diagnosing electrical, electronic, and electromechanical faults in equipment and robotic systems
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and maintenance documentation
• Proficiency in using measuring, testing, and diagnostic equipment to verify functionality and identify defects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and documentation standards
• Ability to perform module modifications, rebuilds, and repairs in accordance with technical specifications
• Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams, customers, and internal stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills for managing service records, system data, and maintenance documentation
• Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to optimize maintenance, repair, and testing processes
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, products, systems, and procedures
• Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems; SAP experience is an advantage
