Job summary

Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to diagnose electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and support equipment installation in a busy manufacturing environment.

The role requires PLC familiarity, strong safety practices, and the ability to work with maintenance staff to minimize downtime. On-site position in Ontario with opportunities for training and career growth.

Qualifications

  • Completion of specialized trade courses and/or apprenticeship/certification.
  • Minimum certified tradesman (industrial electrician).
  • Minimum of 1 year directly related trade experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, not including apprenticeship.
  • Must have exceptional safety record.
  • Background in stamping or automated assembly processes an asset.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming is an asset.
  • Practical knowledge and experience in preventative maintenance procedures and exposure to industrial controls.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and remedy electrical trouble in the plants.
  • Maintain electrical hardware such as motors, switchboards, and other electrical mechanisms.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) schedules as required.
  • Troubleshoot and program machinery using PLC formats.
  • Work with Maintenance Mechanics / Millwrights in a troubleshooting capacity.
  • Complete check sheets and records related to the electrician function.
  • Instruct maintenance apprentice in trade-related tasks and skills.
  • Modify machinery and equipment and overhaul machines as directed.
  • Prepare and distribute machine reports and downtime reports.
  • Suggest preventative measures to minimize breakdowns.
  • Assist in installation and commissioning of equipment.
  • Responsible for electrical installations of new equipment and re-siting per electrical code.
  • Follow Ontario Electrical Code.
  • Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and remedy any electrical trouble in the plants

Qualifications:

  • Minimum certified tradesman (industrial electrician)
  • Minimum of 1 year directly related trade experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, not including apprenticeship

  • Background in either stamping or automated assembly processes an asset
  • Familiarity with PLC programming is an asset
  • Practical knowledge and experience in preventative maintenance procedures and exposure to industrial controls
