Job summary

Role Description

This is a full-time Journeyman Electrician role based in Westlock, AB. The Electrician will install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment across commercial, municipal, agricultural, and energy-related sites. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting electrical drawings, wiring panels and devices, performing routine inspections, and conducting preventive maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation. The role involves diagnosing electrical issues, troubleshooting faults, and completing repairs in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards. The Electrician will collaborate with project teams, communicate with clients and supervisors, document work performed, and may support instrumentation and automation tasks when required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of electricity and electrical engineering principles relevant to industrial, commercial, and municipal environments.
• Demonstrated experience in electrical work, including installation, wiring, panel building, and system commissioning.
• Skills in maintenance & repair of electrical equipment and systems, with a focus on reliability and safety.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical faults, using diagnostic tools, and resolving issues efficiently.
• Valid journeyperson Electrician certification (or equivalent) and eligibility to work in Alberta.
• Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and relevant safety regulations; commitment to safe work practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a crew.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed; experience in multi-sector or industrial environments is an asset.
