Job summary

Surepoint is seeking a skilled Commercial Journeyman Electrician for our Nisku, AB team. You will apply your strong troubleshooting skills, strict safety mindset, and 5+ years of commercial electrical experience to build reliable systems.

In this local, daytime role, you’ll read blueprints, install conduit and panels, test circuits, and mentor apprentices while ensuring compliance with all EH&S policies. Valid license and Fall Protection/First Aid tickets preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold Journeyperson or Red Seal Electrician certification.
• 5+ years of commercial electrician experience (industrial experience a plus).
• Proficient in print-reading, troubleshooting, and QA/QC documentation.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional under pressure; valid driver's license.
• Safety tickets (Fall Protection, AWP, First Aid) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and adhere to all EH&S policies including daily safety analysis and mitigation.
• Read blueprints, circuit diagrams, and codes to layout and build commercial electrical systems.
• Install conduit, cable trays, brackets, and hangers; pull wire through walls, floors, and conduit.
• Connect fixtures, switches, relays, panels, and heavy equipment; test circuit continuity.
• Troubleshoot and isolate system faults to replace components; mentor apprentices on the job.
• Keep work areas clean and safe, coordinate with site teams.
