Job summary

Cascades in St-Marys, Ontario is seeking a skilled Electrician to maintain and repair production equipment on the factory floor. You’ll perform preventative maintenance and support improvements to keep the line running safely and efficiently.

A valid 309A license is required, with experience in Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs, and the ability to read electrical prints. Experience in manufacturing and material handling systems is an asset; you’ll work in a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Electrician-Construction and Maintenance (309A) is required.
• Experience with PLC logic in Siemens and Allen-Bradley.
• Familiarity with material handling systems, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, drive systems and industrial automation.
• Ability to read electrical prints and OEM documentation.
• Knowledge of Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to PM schedule.
• Execute electrical repairs per specifications and verbal direction.
• Implement improvements or modifications to existing equipment.
• Identify and perform corrective maintenance to minimize downtime or line stoppage.
• Provide detailed information regarding required parts or tools; perform PLC installations/startups.
• Troubleshoot PLC drivers and controls; document findings for future reference.

What you’ll do

As a Electrician, you’ll be at the heart of operations - right on the floor where materials take shape. Your day-to-day:

• Work in safe manner at all times
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment according to PM schedule
• Execute electrical repairs according to specifications and verbal direction
• Implement improvements and/or modifications to existing equipment
• Identify and perform corrective maintenance that could lead to downtime or line stoppage
• Provide detailed information regarding any required parts or tools that may be required
• Perform PLC installations, integration, improvements, modifications and start ups for the production line
• Troubleshoot PLC drivers and controls
• Document findings for future reference

Your strengths as a Electrician

You are a natural fit for this role if:

• Must be a licensed Electrician-Construction and Maintenance (309A)
• Experience with PLC logic in the following: Siemens and Allen Bradley
• Familiar with material handling systems, conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes, drive systems and industrial automation
• Experience using tools specific to the trade
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment considered an asset
• Thorough understanding of Lock-Out/ Tag-Out
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
• Ability to read electrical prints and OEM documentation
• Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
• Understand the cause and effect of downtime to the production line
