Job summary

Gilder Search Group seeks an experienced Industrial Electrician in Colborne, Ontario to join our plant team responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of equipment. The role is day shift, 8 hours a day, five days a week, with on-call duties.

Starting wage is $41.98 per hour plus after-hours on-call premium. Responsibilities include maintaining a preventive maintenance program, supporting production, and wiring, PLCs, motors, and instrumentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; technical college diploma is a plus.
• Industrial electrical license 442A or 309A preferred with 5+ years experience.
• Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and CSA standards.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA systems and Industry 4.0 tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a preventive maintenance program and take corrective action to ensure safety, quality and efficiency.
• Support maintenance and production personnel to uphold standards and cost control.
• Layout, inspection, installation, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and controls.
• Monitor contractors’ work for safety and compliance with procedures.
• Maintain thorough equipment inspection records using CMMS.

Industrial Electrician

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our team and assist with the installation, maintenance and repair of all equipment within the plant. Tools are provided.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintaining a preventative maintenance program and taking corrective action, where necessary, for the facility, including upkeep of the property and buildings, in compliance with all corporate procedures and government regulatory guidelines.
• Providing support for all personnel involved in maintenance and production at the facility, ensuring high standards of safety, housekeeping, product quality, internal service, efficiency and cost control that are consistent with corporate objectives.
• Layout, inspection, assembly, installation, troubleshooting, repair (including programming, calibration, preventative/predictive maintenance) of electrical systems, control systems, motors, motor controls, instrumentation, lighting and associated wiring.
• Monitoring contractors’ work in compliance with health and safety regulations and corporate procedures.
• Keeping thorough records of all equipment inspections using CMMS software.

Requirements:

• Minimum High School diploma, technical college diploma a definite asset.
• Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Electrician 442A or Construction & Maintenance Electrician 309A with 5 or more years of work-related Electrical experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code, relevant CSA standards, federal and provincial environmental, health and safety legislation.
• PLC, ladder logic, motor controls circuits, comms protocol, SCADA systems, and Industry 4.0 tools.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and manuals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.
