About the role

The Electrician role offers an exceptional opportunity to work underground with assisting instrumentation/electrical personnel in troubleshooting and implementing solutions on distributed control systems.

The position will be on an 7/7 roster (12 hour days) and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.FIFO is not available.

Key result areas in this role include:

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical systems and components of machinery and equipment
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
• Maintain electrical prints and documentation
• Assist in the training of apprentices on procedures and safe electrical practices
• Provide suggestions on project improvements
• Partake in training sessions to keep up to date of equipment on site
• Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.

About you

As an Electrician, you will have acquired a valid Journeyman Electrician Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate and be in good standings with Skilled Trades Ontario (if registered inOntario). A background in instrumentation/automation or a technician/technologist diploma is an asset.

It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:

• Certified in Standard First Aid & CPR
• Solid comprehension and ability to read technical drawings
• Well-developed ability to comprehend and interpret electrical and operations manuals
• Comprehension of code books and electrical regulations
• Sound understanding of electrical hazards associated with the position
• Familiar with underground mining environment
• Sound computer skills with proficiency in AutoCAD
