Job summary

Quaker Peterborough is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our Peterborough, Ontario facility. The role focuses on electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring production lines run safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Must hold 309A or 442A license.
  • PLC experience is an asset.
  • VFD and servo control knowledge is an asset.
  • Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the customer service/technical point of contact for breakdown support across plants.
  • Respond quickly and diagnose problems to determine best repair method per safety and production needs.
  • Collaborate with Operations during Autonomous Maintenance and Breakdown Maintenance activities.
  • Ensure Preventive Maintenance and Inspections are completed with clear follow-ups.
  • Close work orders promptly and coordinate with Maintenance Coordinator and SMEs to drive improvements.
  • Collaborate with other trades on projects, rebuilds and maintenance tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

$49.41/hour

Responsibilities
  • As the customer service/ technical point of contact – you are the first responder to assist with expertise in support of all area breakdowns to all plant as needed or required.
  • Expected to quickly respond and diagnose problems in order to determine best method of repair based on safety and production requirements by assessing failures and implementing alternative solutions to keep production/packaging lines running
  • Work collaboratively with all operations during Autonomous Maintenance sessions and Breakdown Maintenance and when addressing reoccurring problems and other department maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure Preventive Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance Inspection are completed and provide detailed follow-ups of future work needed.
  • Ensure all work orders are properly closed out in timely manor
    Work with Maintenance Coordinator, other Department SME’s, trades and operations to drive process improvement projects
  • Work collaboratively with other trades and Department SME’s on projects, rebuilds, Autonomous Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance Breakdown Maintenance and other jobs as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager
Qualifications
  • 309A OR 442A
  • PLC experience is an Asset

  • Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot equipment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
  • Working knowledge of the equipment needed for the job
  • Ability to work independently without much supervision
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in tight spaces
  • Ability to effectively manage time
  • The successful candidate must be available for 5x8 or 7x24 rotation
