Job summary

LP Building Solutions is seeking a Journey Maintenance Electrician to perform predictive and preventative electrical maintenance under minimal supervision at our Dawson Creek site. You will conduct electrical PMs, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain high workmanship while collaborating with the Electrical Team Leader.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, HMIs, and drives, plus the ability to read drawings and work safely in confined spaces, are essential.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Construction or Industrial Electrician Certification is required.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and drive systems is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong safety mindset and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical preventive maintenance (PMs) and predictive tasks.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment and PLC/HMI systems.
• Meticulously apply skills to perform tasks with high workmanship.
• Complete training identified by the Electrical Team Leader.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems including Allen Bradley.
• Assist in training apprentices and site personnel.
• Actively participate in EHS programs and safety rules.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas and support improvement projects.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Purpose

To perform predictive and preventative electrical maintenance functions as a Journey Maintenance Electrician under minimal supervision.

In This Position You Will Have The Opportunity To

• Conduct electrical PMs


• Troubleshoot electrical equipment


• Apply skills to perform assigned tasks and maintain high quality of workmanship


• Complete training identified by the Electrical Team Leader


• Maintain and Troubleshoot PLC Systems


• Assist in the training of other electricians’ apprentices and site personnel based on your skills and abilities


• Actively participate in EHS Programs


• Maintain housekeeping of the assigned areas


• Participating in improvement projects


• Perform other duties as required
