Job description

Flying Dust First Nation Housing Department is seeking a qualified and motivated Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems in residential housing and community-owned buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential electrical systems.
  • Conduct inspections and identify electrical deficiencies in housing units.
  • Install and replace electrical panels, breakers, wiring, switches, receptacles, and lighting fixtures.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and emergency repairs as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and inspections performed.
  • Work collaboratively with Housing Department staff, contractors, and community members.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum Third‑Year Construction Electrician Apprentice status registered with the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC), or higher.
  • Preference will be given to Fourth‑Year Apprentices, Journeyperson Electricians, and candidates holding a Red Seal Endorsement.
  • Experience with residential electrical installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and Saskatchewan electrical standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and identifying deficiencies.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
