Job summary

Energy Network Services Inc in Kingston, Ontario, is seeking an Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and equipment in accordance with safety codes and customer needs. You will prepare sketches, plan layouts, and work from ladders or scaffolds as required.

This full-time role requires 3+ years of trade experience, 309A certification, a valid G license, and a strong safety mindset. You will train apprentices and collaborate with management to ensure reliable, safe

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Electrical Safety Code, OHSA and applicable legislation.
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods and climb 10 ft ladders.
• Time Management.
• Organizational and communication skills (written and oral).
• 309A Construction and Electrician certification is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of trade experience (apprenticeship included).
• A valid G driver's license is required.
• Criminal background check will be a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

• Prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
• Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly wiring, consistent with specifications and local codes.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
• Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels; install electrical feeders, power systems and/or switchgear.
• Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Train apprentices as required
