Job summary

Seaspan ULC in North Vancouver is seeking a Trades Coordinator (Electrical) for a 12-month limited term to support the Trades Superintendent and coordinating HR and workforce development activities at our Vancouver Operations Center. The role is on-site and involves heavy administrative work with a focus on training, records, and trade group support.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in business or HR; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2-4 years' experience in a high-volume administration capacity.
• Experience supporting large workforce teams in operational settings; trades experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Administratively manage, schedule and coordinate training programs for the Vancouver Shipyard workforce and leaders.
• Maintain LMS records and track completions, expirations, and reminders of training.
• Prepare and maintain LMS data reporting for operations teams.
• Monitor and maintain records of tools and assets.
• Liaise with trades leadership to understand training needs and improvement areas.
• Interface with trades employees to sustain feedback loops and relations.
• Support apprentice program management including reviews and admin tasks.
• Ensure compliance with training and recruitment regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain employee files on quality, training, attendance and competencies.
• Track leave usage and absences for approved reasons.
• Collaborate with wellness and stakeholders to support Gradual Return to Work programs.
• Coordinate overtime across trades groups and monitor probation for new hires.
