Job summary

SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified Electrical Technician to design recommendations, procure materials, lead projects, install, commission, and maintain electrical systems across corporate facilities. The role involves coordinating contractors, ensuring safety, and supporting automation with control program changes.

The position includes travel, shifts, and is safety sensitive with strict adherence to Canadian Electrical Code revisions.

Qualifications

Must hold a Provincial or Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrician Certificate.
Grade 12 or equivalent educational background.
Valid driver’s license (Class 5) required for travel.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate on-site construction contractors and perform electrical duties for installation, calibration, inspection, testing and maintenance.
Oversee maintenance and inspections during plant shutdowns and electrical activities.
Advise on electrical safety and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
Provide on-site QA of tendered contracts to verify specs and claims.
Make changes to control programs with the automation group.
Procure materials and maintain on-site tools for installation and repair.
Mentor staff and apprentices and share electrical expertise.
Contribute to design and layout specs for future operation and maintenance.
Assess new technology and resources for potential use.
