Job summary

SaskPower is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the research, development and implementation of electrical designs and protection systems from 25 kV to 230 kV. The role involves preparing studies, business cases, designs, tender evaluations and construction drawings while aligning with corporate goals.

The position requires six+ years post‑P.Eng. experience, strong analytical abilities, project management skills and a commitment to safety, collaboration and professional development.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Systems Engineering and be eligible for professional licensing with APEGS.
• Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.) is expected or required.
• Strong leadership and project-management capabilities across complex electrical projects.

Responsibilities

• Learn and become familiar with assigned tasks, methodologies and practices.
• Prepare project plans, monitor costs and schedules; provide direction for projects.
• Provide technical assistance for construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Analyze alternatives for business cases and recommend actions.
• Develop criteria, guidelines, standards and new practices.
• Lead technologists, technicians, consultants and staff; coordinate external agencies.
• Ensure safety, innovation and teamwork across projects.
• Support continuous professional development and competencies within the team.
• Participate in assessments and provide input for decision making.
