Job Summary:
We are currently hiring two (2) experienced Electrical Technicians to support ongoing work at Ontario Power Generation’s Pickering site. Ideal candidates will have previous experience working within OPG facilities and possess strong skills in troubleshooting, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), varistors, and bus bar systems.
This is a site-based role requiring hands-on work in a nuclear facility, and familiarity with OPG standards, safety procedures, and electrical systems is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of power systems and related components.
Work with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), varistors, bus bars, and other key electrical equipment.
Conduct inspections, testing, and diagnostics on electrical systems.
Ensure compliance with OPG safety and quality protocols.
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades on daily tasks and system upgrades.
Document all maintenance activities and findings according to OPG reporting standards.
Qualifications:
Licensed or certified Electrical Technician with relevant field experience.
Prior work experience within OPG facilities is strongly preferred.
Strong hands-on knowledge of VFDs, varistors, and bus bar systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Must be available to work on-site at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station.
