Job description

Agilus is recruiting for multiple Electrical Technicians in the Oil & Gas Industry in Burnaby, British Columbia. The Electrical Technician provides operational support in a multi-skilled work environment, with a focus on public safety, environmental stewardship, and pipeline integrity. The role involves using maintenance tracking software to manage, document, and verify the integrity of protective devices, valve actuators, mainline motors, and high-voltage infrastructure. A typical day:

• Install, commission, and maintain low and high voltage electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, communication networks, and control equipment using software, schematics, and drawings.
• Program and troubleshoot Local Operator Interfaces (LOIs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and control systems.
• Perform and document electrical asset maintenance in accordance with tracking software to ensure system reliability.
• Analyze SCADA, HMI displays, and P&ID drawings to ensure safe facility operation.
• Support emergency response initiatives and participate in related training.
• Provide operational support for system reliability, marine vessel mooring, and release activities.
• Assist other technical groups, including maintenance and operations.

Successful candidates will have:

• Journeyperson Electrician Red Seal certification required.
• Minimum of 6+ years of industrial experience.
• Journeyperson Instrumentation Red Seal endorsement is an asset.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and Process Control is a plus.
• Experience with motor controls, VFDs, high-voltage equipment, and hazardous location installations.
• Commissioning and start-up experience preferred.
• Strong focus on safety for personnel, assets, and the public.
• Availability for on-call rotation and overtime as needed.
