Kiewit Energy Canada is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. We are a major industrial contractor working on projects involving the construction of oil & gas facilities such as oilsands processing, steam–assisted gravity drainage facilities, upgrading & refining, midstream facilities, power & co-generation, terminal projects (e.g., LNG, LPG), and major mine developments. We also have a Modular Yard in Edmonton, Alberta. Our engineering division offers innovative services for current and future projects in Canada, with design expertise in process, piping, mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural disciplines based in Calgary and Houston.

Location

We are primarily seeking superintendents in the Edmonton, AB and Calgary, AB regions. Our culture is dynamic; we relocate teams based on project needs, aligning with individual development plans, skills, and career goals, creating a tailored career experience.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and develop Jr. Superintendents
  • Review and approve labor rates for Foremen, journeymen, and laborers
  • Manage contract administration, including subcontractor meetings
  • Develop client relations programs involving onsite staff
  • Participate in client meetings for problem resolution and planning
  • Oversee monthly job cost updates and cash flow projections
  • Review, negotiate, and approve change orders
  • Create and execute project completion and turnover plans
  • Maintain daily diaries for record keeping
  • Conduct timely performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Recommend organizational, policy, procedural, or staff changes
  • Review and approve or reject promotions up to General Foremen
Qualifications
  • 6+ years' electrical construction experience, including 1+ years in a supervisory/leadership role, preferably in industrial projects like oil/gas or renewable energy
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, with minimal supervision required
  • Quick learner of Kiewit’s policies, procedures, and software
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership, safety, negotiation, planning, and contract management experience
