Job summary

Stantec is seeking an electrical engineer with strong experience in building electrical systems for commercial, light industrial, and institutional projects. You will work under supervision on tasks and as a team member on larger projects, with duties spanning design, calculations, and field work.

The role requires knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and Canadian Electrical Code, plus Revit/AutoCAD and BIM capabilities. Travel to site may be involved.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical contract document creation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Canadian Electrical Code and applicable building and energy codes.
• General understanding of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
• Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and meet project budget/schedule.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead for projects of small to medium complexity/size while being a key member of large-scale projects.
• Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers electrical systems or products for a project including generators, UPS; solar PV and energy storage experience is a plus.
• Develop design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visuals.
• Utilize BIM in 3D models of building electrical systems and provide markups for junior engineers.
• Prepare and revise site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
• Lead project coordination meetings with internal teams, consultants, owners, and contractors.
