Job summary

Stantec Buildings in Markham, ON seeks an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. You will design electrical systems for diverse building projects, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to proposals and cost estimating.

You will lead electrical design activities, develop schematics and power plans, and ensure quality while meeting deadlines. Travel within the region may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience designing electrical systems for buildings and associated power and life safety.
• Ability to develop and manage scope, budget, and schedule with project managers.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist/lead overall project electrical design, prioritizing quality and meeting deadlines.
• Lead project coordination meetings with internal teams, external consultants, owners, and contractors.
• Participate in client requirement meetings, value analysis, and cost estimating.
• Support/lead technical sections of proposal pursuits.
• Develop and manage project scope, budget, design approach, staffing, and schedule.
• Evaluate, specify, and design electrical systems from 120V to 44kV.
• Develop deliverables: single line drawings, diagrams, equipment specs, power/conduit plans, cable schedules, studies, relay settings.
• Produce designs via sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and 3D tools.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines for deliverable development.
• Lead in project specifications and construction support documents.
• Share lessons learned to improve processes.
• Local travel within the National Capital Region for site visits/meetings.
