Canada Packers Inc. is seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician for our Brandon, MB plant to maintain and repair complex electrical and control systems. You will handle PLCs, DCS, instrumentation, power distribution, HVAC and safety-critical systems on a manufacturing line.

The role requires a 447A Instrumentation & Control Technician certificate and at least 3 years in a highly automated setting. Expect outdoor work in all seasons and collaboration with maintenance and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 447 A- Instrumentation and Control Technician Certificate is required.
• Minimum 3 years in a highly automated industrial environment.
• Experience with MV, weigh scales, vision systems and HMI.
• Proficiency with Siemens S5/S7, AB SLC5 PLC, VFDs and servomotors.
• Ability to interpret drawings and plan work safely and efficiently.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons and in cool/hot/wet environments.

Responsabilités

• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment.
• Work with microprocessor systems (PLCs, DCS, controls).
• Manage low/medium voltage distribution and instrumentation signals.
• Oversee power distribution, transformers, switchgears and generators.
• Maintain HVAC, boilers, refrigeration and related energy controls.
• Calibrate scales, detectors, X-ray equipment and related sensors.
• Run Planned Preventive and Predictive maintenance; keep records.
• Suggest corrective actions and coordinate repairs.
• Assist in planning, drawing interpretation and parts prep.

About This Opportunity:

Our pork processing plant in Brandon is currently seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and energetic individual to join Canada Packers Maintenance Team. Get a fresh start with Canada Packers Brandon.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair:
• Electrical equipment (AC Drives, power controls circuits, starters, MCCs).
• Microprocessor based systems (PLCs, DCS, Electronic circuits, controls).
• Low and medium voltage distribution systems (single and three phase systems).
• Instrumentation (pneumatic controls, PID, transducers, servos, analog/digital signals).
• Power distribution and generation (generators, transformers, switchgears, breakers).
• Communication and Data Systems (closed circuit TV, timekeeping, phone/computer, Network).
• HVAC, emergency systems (boilers, refrigeration, air compressors, energy control, alarm) Scales calibrations, Metal detector calibrations, Xray calibrations.
• Conduct Planned Preventive and Predictive Maintenance and keep maintenance records.
• Recommend and implement corrective action and required repairs.
• Assist in planning, and organization of work activities (drawing interpretation, parts preparation).

Skills & Experience:

• 447 A- Instrumentation and Control Technician Certificate required
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a highly automated industrial manufacturing environment.
• Medium Voltage, Weigh Scales, Vision Systems, HMI, Siemens S5/S7, Allen Bradley SLC5 PLC, VFD, Servomotors, Profibus / Ethernet Network Communications experience essential.
• Strong decision making, problem solving troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and in a multifunctional team with minimum supervision.
• Environmental work conditions can range from a cool environment, to one that is hot and wet.
• Will be required to work outdoors in all seasons.
