Job description

A well-established electrical contractor with over 30 years of industry experience, specializing in new construction and retrofit commercial and industrial projects. This group values loyalty and commitment and offers a great team culture. They are looking to add an Electrical Estimator with proven expertise in commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. Collaborating closely with the Chief Estimator, the successful individual will enjoy invaluable mentorship and long-term career growth opportunities. This is a fully in-office position that offers a salary ranging from $80K-$100K, or more depending on experience, plus benefits.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare cost estimates from tender period proposals, plans, and specifications
• Manage tender period price addendums and project price changes during construction
• Prepare quantity takeoffs
• Build strong relationships with suppliers for fair and competitive pricing, negotiating when needed.
• Review final estimates with the senior estimator before formal quoting
• Attend turnover meetings with the project management team and ensure clear communication on tender pricing details throughout construction.

Key Qualifications :

• Post-secondary education in construction estimation or the electrical field
• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience on ICI projects within the Ontario construction market
• Proven expertise in electrical estimation in an electrical contracting setting
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
• Strong communication skills for correspondence with subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers throughout the project execution
• Proficient in Accubid software
• Solid knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code

Salary Range : $80K-$100K, or more depending on experience
