$70,000–$90,000 a year – Permanent, Full-time

Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team at MeadowBrook! As an estimator, you prepare initial cost estimates for electrical supplies and services, create pricing schedules, develop bid proposals, and assess the technical aspects of the project. You may also help with risk analysis assessments related to the costs of the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with a dedicated team to help build, create and develop process, strategies to create efficiencies
  • The estimates of electrical systems involving power generation, lighting, power distribution, new services, branch wiring, low voltage wiring, emergency lighting, equipment connections, etc.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate, professional estimates by calculating electrical material quantity take-offs, equipment and labour rates for tender verification
  • Quantify all aspects of the tender document, including tender requirements, written specifications and project drawings
  • Be the technical resource for the sales team and clients
  • Work closely with the PMs and Foreman to hand off information about pricing and strategy
  • Manage relationships with vendors and negotiate pricing
  • Prepare submittals and review for conformance with design
  • Work closely with estimators from all disciplines to create a complete estimate for the sales team and client
  • Take ownership of your role, responsibilities, duties, and team; take appropriate action with minimal direction
  • Assist a cross functional team for submitting costs
  • Communicate directly with clients to understand their needs
  • Generate solutions to meet client needs
  • Clearly articulate design, material and labour to PMs and field representatives
  • Prepare post-project costing analysis
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian University with 1 to 3 years in design and estimating
  • Basic understanding of building code and electrical code
  • Proven ability to read drawings/submittals using AutoCad, Bluebeam, Excel and PDF editors
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and time-management skills

Pay

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Additional pay: Overtime pay
