Job summary

Interpro Pipe & Steel Inc. in Regina is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technologist to design, install, and maintain electrical machinery, controls, and data acquisition systems.

You will analyze circuits, plan material needs, and troubleshoot complex equipment while ensuring safety and compliance with OH&S standards. The role requires a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, at least 2 years of related experience, and proficiency with Word.

Qualifications

• Diploma from a recognized Electrical Engineering Technology Program.
• Grade 12 or Equivalent.
• A minimum 2 years' experience in an Electrical Engineering Technology role.
• Understanding of Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures.
• Understanding and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Knowledge of OH&S regulations and safety standards.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, maintain, program, configure and troubleshoot electrical machinery, controls, industrial automation and data acquisition systems.
• Receive wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions for repair, installation and inspection work.
• Analyze circuits and diagrams to install, repair, calibrate and service devices and systems.
• Plan procedures to determine materials and replacement needs and troubleshoot issues.
• Prepare sketches and layouts for parts and adaptations.
• Complete mechanical and electrical repairs for electronic equipment.
• Inspect, dismantle, service, reassemble, test and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Fabricate parts using common machine and hand tools.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Here at Interpro Pipe and Steel - Regina the primary functions of the Electrical Engineering Technologist will be to design, install, maintain, program, configure and troubleshoot electrical machinery, controls, industrial automation and data acquisition systems.

• Receive wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work to be done.
• Analyze all types of circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings as required to install, repair, adjust, calibrate, construct, modify or service all types of electronic devices and systems, including communication systems, various mill and production equipment, electronic computing and control systems, power and distribution control equipment, measuring, recording, processing, and control devices, indicating devices and gauges etc.
• Plan detail of working procedure to determine material or replacement needs and select a logical approach to “trouble shooting” and repair problems.
• Prepare sketches of parts and layouts, design and construct adaptions or conversions of component parts.
• Complete mechanical and electrical repairs as required in connection with the servicing of electronic equipment.
• Inspect, dismantle, service, reassemble, test, and adjust equipment for safe and proper operation.
• Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of equipment, etc.
• Fabricate parts as required using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
